Sure, booster club members work hard as volunteers, but we want to have some
fun too! Members get together all year round at specific events organized by
the booster club. We try to come up with fresh ideas each season, and these
are some of the more popular events we have organized in the past:
Questions? E-mail the Events
Coordinator.
Player Dinner: These
have been the most popular events over the past five seasons. In January 2003,
members and guests attended an evening with Bryan Allen, Sami Salo and Bryan
Helmer. The players join randomly selected tables for dinner, then mingle after
dinner, signing autographs, having their pictures taken and chatting with boosters.
Christmas Party: Each December,
we hold a Christmas party for our members. The Canuck theme is very common and
the evening often includes a road game on television. Most members receive a
Canuck-related gift courtesy of the booster club.
Visiting Clubs:
When booster club members from other NHL cities visit
Vancouver, we try to hold an event to welcome them to the
city. These can range from casual get-togethers after the
game to joining them as they tour the city.
Hockey Pool:
Each September, booster club members pick their
teams and hope that their players don't get injured.
Bragging rights (and some cash) go to the winners. In
April, we fire up the playoff pool.
Annual General
Meeting: Even our meetings are fun. Before we
get to the elections, we hold our annual trivia
challenge. If you know your stuff, you could win big
Canuck prizes.
We also attend many Canuck
sponsored events as a group (or just meet each other
while we're there). You will always find booster
club members at events such as NHL Breakout, the
Superskills competition, and the biggest events of all, Canuck
games.
Of course, there are lots
of other events we could hold. All we need is a few
members who are willing to help organize them and lots of
members who will attend. If you want to get involved in
planning or attending our events, join the
club. Remember
that most events are open to members and guests only, so
if you really want to attend, you'll have to join the
club.
